Inspired by a Facebook misspelling.
Bowl – a round, deep dish used for food or liquid.
Bowel – The part of the alimentary canal below the stomach; the intestine.
Don’t mix the two:
Bowl cancer is a dangerous disease.
“I have a bowel full of plastic fruit”
So true!
OMGosh! This is sooooooooooo funny. Your whole site is. Unique. I can be a grammar and punctuation snob at times. That is, until I backtrack some of my (hurried) posts, e-mails, texts and become horrified.
Thanks so much! Ah, yes, being a grammar snob is both a blessing and a curse, isn’t it?
These characters are so QT!!!
LOL! You are too funny!
Glad you’re enjoying the comics! Feel free to share 🙂
The ex- used to call me, “the apostrophe police.” Former English teacher. Can’t shake it.
Ha! My name on Twitter is “The Grammar Police”. I had to throw in my badge after about 5 minutes of reading through tweets.
You just don’t know how many people out there are just like you! I am one. I will never live down calling out a spelling error between contractions while I was flat on my back in the hospital room about to deliver my daughter! There was a chart on the wall depicting the progression in centimeters of “dilaton”
Hahaha! I admire your dedication!
People laugh at me when I correct their grammar or spellings.
Really nice! 🙂
I will gonna share these. Thanks!
This reminds me of a newspaper article about a teachers’ and cafeteria workers’ strike. The writer stated that the students were disgruntled because they “were served a bowel of hot soup” for lunch. Is it any wonder they were disgruntled? 🙂
HAHA! That is hilarious!
Great stuff, I believe the grammar comics are my favorite. I truly hope you’re sharing these with your students. Although for innocence sake, and probably your job’s sake, not all of them.
P.S. what about the grammar behind innocence sake. With innocence as a possessive?
Technically, “innocence’s sake,” but I hate the way that sounds. I’d go with “for the sake of innocence,” personally. Thanks for the comment, and no, I haven’t shared these with my students… yet!
I like your comics. They are SO COOL!

Awesome! Keep up with your school and hopefully you won’t learn a thing from my comics! 😉
